Encouraging children’s communication skills

Little Angels Pre School is excited about our journey along the ECaT Programme to provide a setting that fosters and encourages children to communicate and the impact this has on their development and future learning.

ECaT aims are to:

  • Improve children’s early language development
  • Improve the skills of the practitioners working with young children to support children’s language development
  • Increase the understanding and involvement of parents in their children’s language development (taken from Cheshire East website)

We look forward to this exciting  journey with the support of our Early Language Lead Practitioner (ELLP)  Steph Johnston leading the journey.

We have also been creating ‘Communication Friendly Spaces’ within the setting indoors and outdoors to provide smaller and cosier areas for children to develop their speaking and listening skills to enhance the children’s experiences within our ‘Outstanding’ provision.
